Join us for a presentation by Dr. Carol Bentel, Professor at the School of Visual Arts and Partner of an internationally renowned architecture firm. Dr. Bentel will share her personal journey and discuss how educating young people in the visual and performing arts cultivates a desire for truth and beauty that is integral to a classical liberal arts education.

Dr. Carol Bentel, received her PhD in the history and theory of modern architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Venice in Italy. She is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, and has taught at Harvard, MIT, Georgia Tech, and the Architectural Association in London. She is currently Chair of the Interior Design Department at School of Visual Arts in NYC and has delivered lectures at Harvard, MIT, Yale, the Architectural Association in London, and the Centro Palladio in Vicenza (Italy). She has published numerous articles on Italian Modernism and was the national chair of the AIA Committee on Design with over 10,000 members. She is a partner in the studio of Bentel & Bentel, Architects/Planners AIA, a licensed architect, and is NCARB, NCIDQ and LEED AP certified. She is the mother of three children who are all successfully pursuing a career in the arts.
