Art for Hawthorn Boys

Twice each week, Hawthorn boys learn how to draw and paint with Mr. Patrick Riley. Their most recent art project is replicating an oil painting of a horse that currently hangs in the National Gallery in London. The boys appreciate an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the great masters as they learn about proportion, composition, shading, blending and applying paint. Photos of the boys at work may be found here.
