Bedford Court House Field trip

Students in grades 2-8, accompanied by Mr. McGovern, Mrs. Mancuso, and Mrs. MacDonald, met the docents of the Bedford Historical Society on Thurs, Feb 23rd at the Bedford Courthouse.  Students had an informative introduction to the court system in early America, in this restored building that served as a Courthouse when Westchester County was first established.  Upstairs, the students got to explore the museum, the highlight of which included touring a real jail cell.  The museum held pieces of furniture, books, tools, weaponry, jewelry, and pottery that had been owned by people living in Bedford in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
