On Tuesday, October 28th, boys in Grades 2-9 visited the Bedford Fire Department to learn the basics of fire safety.  They learned how to respond to smoke detector alarms in their homes, what number to call in an emergency, and how to "stay low and go" in the event of a fire.  Local firefighters explained the volunteer nature of their jobs in service to the local community.  Firefighters here in Bedford work in everyday jobs as professors, nurses, business professionals, mothers and fathers, and even college students!
