The 6th through 8th Grade Boys class enjoyed an overnight camping trip to Ward Pound Ridge Park, not too far from our school, leaving after lunch on Thursday and returning at 1.30pm on Friday. After setting up tent, we hiked to the Leatherman’s Cave and back, a round trip of around 7 miles. We barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs in the evening on the fire pit and, of course, enjoyed some S’mores too. The following day we did a shorter hike to the highest point in the Park at 680 feet above sea level. After breaking camp and packing up, we finished the rest of the hamburgers and sausages, played some Spike Ball and got in some slingshot practice. Mr. McGovern and Mr. Hickman went 3-0 in Spike Ball so the gauntlet has been thrown down for next year. Get practicing!
