May crowning

On Wednesday, May 31st, Hawthorn students gathered at the statue of the Blessed Mother on the school lawn  to honor Mary on her Feast of the Visitation.
Mrs. Andino's class prepared a crown of flowers and filled several vases with blooms from the school grounds to place before the statue. Later, they were joined by the older boys and the younger grades to sing three Marian hymns,while Juan Pablo Morales crowned the the image of Our Lady. Aidan Minton provided a resounding reading of the gospel account of the Visitation to round out the ceremony.
